KKR coach shorlist for vacant coach's job
Even as John Wright has confirmed that he is on Kolkata Knight Riders radar,former Australian batsman Michael Bevan have thrown his hat in the ring. Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) will hold a meeting to select a new coach for the next season. X-England allrounder Dermot Reeve is the latest to have been shortlisted by the Shah Rukh Khan-owned franchise to replace John Buchanan as the coach of the Indian Premier League side.
Among the foreign candidates, former England coach Duncan Fletcher and Dav Whatmore were also in the shortlist.
The Knight Riders management is expected to take a cautious approach to select John Buchanan's replacement. The selection process will see the likes of John Wright, Richard Pybus, Duncan Fletcher, Dermot Reeve, as also some Indian candidates like Lalchand Rajput, Ashok Malhotra and Chandrakant Pandit meeting the KKR supremo Shah Rukh Khan and putting forward their ideas through presentations.
The World Cup winning Australian coach`s tenure was marked with controversies especially after he replaced Ganguly with Kiwi Brendon McCullum as the skipper of the Kolkata side in IPL II. Buchanan was later sacked after the second edition of the Twenty20 tournament.
