5 students killed in Delhi school stampede

Five girls were killed and 27 other students injured in a stampede triggered by rumours about a short circuit in a government-run school in North East Delhi on Thursday.

The incident was reported from Government Senior Secondary School in Khajuri Khas.

"Five girl students were killed in the incident while 32 students were injured," Joint Commissioner (New Delhi) Dharmendra Kumar said.

Out of the 27 students injured, 26 are girls. The injured were taken to Guru Tegh Bahadur Hospital.
