New York's Giants Stadium demolition work starts today

Giants Stadium, the multi-purpose stadium which is located in East Rutherford, New Jersey, USA is all set to be demolished to give rise to a new stadium which will seat 82,500 fans, including 9,500 club seats and 222 luxury suites in the Meadowlands. Demolition work on Giants Stadium began from today.

Crane will be brought inside the stadium to start dismantling the top sections first. The 34 year old stadium has witnessed numerous college football games, New Jersey high school football matches, Soccer matches, and concerts by world famous bands and musicians like Madonna, The Jacksons, The Eagles, U2, Kiss, The Who, The Rolling Stones, Pink Floyd, Bon Jovi, AC/DC, Paul McCartney, The Cure, Grateful Dead, David Bowie, Dave Matthews Band, The Police, Depeche Mode, Metallica, Billy Joel, Radiohead, Elton John, Genesis, Aerosmith, Guns N’ Roses, Boston and Green Day.

And F.Y.I. the 2008 remake of The Day the Earth Stood Still showed a scene where the stadium being destroyed.
