Rams Sold To Shahid Khan

The Rams ownership group of Rosenbloom and Rodriquez have entered into an agreement to sell the Rams to Illinois businessman Shahid Khan. The move will still be pending for over 6 weeks as the NFL owners would have to approve the sale to Khan.

Bernie Miklasz of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch got the scoop late last night and the full article is posted on the St. Louis Post-Dispatch website.

Khan lives in Champaign-Urbana, Illinois which is just over 3 hours from St. Louis. And Bernie drops the best news for St. Louis Rams fans in the article.

Moreover, Khan is said to have special feelings for St. Louis because he arrived in St. Louis early in his life when his parents moved to the United States from Pakistan.

That is the best possible result for St. Louis, even if Dave Checketts purchased the team. A St. Louis Rams fan buys the Rams is the best case scenario and Khan is committed to keeping the Rams in St. Louis.

It is unclear if Stan Kroenke will want to sell his 40% stake in the Rams, but by all accounts Khan would have the money to purchase that portion if he needed to.

Additionally, Khan will be the first minority owner in the NFL if the sale goes through.
