Meri Dilli Meri Yamuna Campaign 2010

To create awareness and mobilise support for save the river Yamuna, Art of Living launched its citizen awareness campaign titled ‘Meri Dilli Meri Yamuna’ on March 16 at Purana Qila, which saw the presence of thousands of citizens, leaders and stakeholders.

Meri Dilli Meri Yamuna is initiated by His Holiness Sri Sri Ravi Shankar of the Art of Living. It started on the banks of the river. Sri Sri Ravi Shankar asked all the citizens to come together and raise awareness and alert the government. At the event major personalities of the government including Shri Jairam Ramesh, Smt. Kiran Walia, Shri Kanwar Sain, Shri Ramesh Negi were present at the event. Starting from the river Yamuna, over the next few weeks the campaign would cover Delhi NCR within September 2010.

His Holiness Sri Sri Ravi Shankar and the Art of Living have been spearheading a week-long cleanliness drive of the eight Yamuna ghats, where thousands of Art of Living volunteers, along with supporting organisations and others, have cleaned the ghats, waded into the waters, removed debris and waste and planted trees on the ghats to beautify them.
