World Health Day 2010 on 7th April

Each year on April 7th, the world celebrates World Health Day. World Health Day marks the founding of the World Health Organization (WHO) and is an occasion to raise awareness of key global health issues. On this day around the globe, thousands of events mark the importance of health for productive and happy lives.

This year, World Health Day focuses on urbanization and health, in recognition of the effect urbanization has on our collective health globally and for us all individually.

Unlike other years, this time too there will be campaigns in around 1000 cities, 1000 lives, and events will be organized worldwide during the week of 7 – 11 April 2010.
