Rooney, Cheryl Cole top Brit teenagers’ public figures list

Footballer Wayne Rooney and singer Cheryl Cole came in top British teenagers’ public figures list.

The pair pipped political leaders in Britain in terms of popularity and “believability”, reports The Daily Star.

The poll of male personalities was topped by Rooney, 24, as responders believed the Manchester United striker could help England win the World Cup this summer.

And Cheryl, 26, was singled out as an aspirational figure for young women.

Cheryl Ann Cole is an English singer, songwriter, actress, dancer, model, and television personality. Cole married to the Chelsea and England football player Ashley Cole. It was reported on 24 February 2010 that the couple are to separate.
