Fiat Grande Punto Launched in India
Italian car maker Fiat has unveiled its premium small car 'Grande Punto' in India. A week ago Honda launched its first small car Jazz. Fiat authority claims that it will set a new benchmark in design, comfort, safety and style.Grande Punto will be available in both petrol and diesel versions, is priced between Rs.3.99-6.11 lakh (ex showroom, New Delhi).
FIAL is a 50:50 joint venture company between Italy-based Fiat SpA and Indian auto major Tata Motors. Grande Punto will roll out from its Ranjangaon facility, which has a current production capacity of 200,000 cars and 300,000 engines per annum. India will be the third country after Italy and Brazil where it will be manufactured.
About the Grande Punto
Grande Punto will be available in three engine options - 1200cc FIRE petrol, 1400cc FIRE petrol and 1300-cc Multijet fixed geometry turbo common rail diesel engine. While the petrol variants, which can deliver peak power of 67 bhp and 88.5 bhp respectively, would cost Rs.3.99-5.61 lakh, the diesel cars, with 74.5 bhp peak power, would be offered at Rs.4.85-6.11 lakh.
All versions of Grande Punto Active, Dynamic, Emotion and Emotion Pack - will be available in six color options - Bossa Nova White, Hip Hop Black, Minimal Grey, Medium Grey, Exotica Red and Electric Blue.
